Lift question

I took my truck to the dealer on Mon to have some warranty work done on it. Ever since I bought the truck, there has been a squeak in the steering column. I took it into them to have them look at it. They instantly said no warranty cause of lift. Apparently, when the company installed my lift (it was a very reputable company), they installed it wrong. Some part that was supposed to be straight is bent now. I don't know what part (my mom was telling me this since she talked to them) and Dodge hasn't returned any of my calls (which is really starting to tick me off). What part of the steering would be affected by a leveling kit? I did put a new steering stabalizer on there. As soon as I find out more info, I'll let yall know. Thanks for any help yall can give me.

Re:Lift question

The only thing I've seen "bent" during a lift or leveling kit install is the sway bar links.

There was a thread a month or so ago that had pics of them showing how bent they were.

This shouldn't affect steering though.

Unless you bent the steering stabalizer bolt, and it pushed stuff one way or the other.

Re:Lift question

I put my leveling kit on myself, and I don't see how you could bend anything. I unbolted the swaybar links when I did mine, and it all went in fairly easily. Sounds like the *********** is trying to get out of warranty work.

Re:Lift question

Got the truck back. Apparently, my front axle is now tilited forward. The dealer said that I need longer lower control arms (trailing arms as he called them) to push the top of the axle back. There is something else that is pushed all the way back that is affecting the brakes. Apparently compenating for something. Yall think this is crap or what? I'm taking it back to where I got it installed and let them look at it. I'm also going to get a couple of other places to look at it.

Re:Lift question

Bigblue,
You might try taking it to Alan Samuels Dodge in Katy. I have a good friend there, Dennis. He is the mechanic that works on the diesels. He has done a good job with mine. We race stock cars at the same track. Good lucl.

Barry

Re:Lift question

I'm getting ready to move to College Station in about 2 months. I bought the truck at Lawerence Marshall in Hempstead so I figure I'll just take it back there. If I need to, I'll try them.
