LineX or Rino or Signature Brand????
Please tell me why is one better than the other.
I am sure this has been hashed before but things and minds do change.

LineX or Rino or Signature

The signature brand is a local distributor and the price to do a 2003 Short bed over the rail is $400.00. Their product is Polyurea, which they say is harder than polyurethane, which is used in other makes. Anyone ever hear of this product?
Re:LineX or Rino or Signature Brand????
For my .02 cents worth: I've never heard of them, but I just had my long bed '03 3500 done by Rhino and I also had a 2000 Ram Sport done by Rhino and both came out looking great and tough as nails. I've hauled rear-ends, engines, gravel, manure, mulch, axles....you name it in that Sport and the liner always stayed good. I had the liner on the 3500 done in Houston and for the long bed over the rails was about $450 if I remember correctly. I had my Westin Step bars also done in the black Rhino lining in the big drop design and they came out great....and so far have held up pretty good in day to day farm and road use.
Re:LineX or Rino or Signature Brand????
Don't know anything about Signature....but you can't go wrong with Line-X or Rhino. The difference is in the application. Line-X is a two part mix that is put on hot at high pressures and it cures in place on your truck. It's kind of plasticy and quite a bit harder than the Rhino. Rhino is more rubbery. Rhino is also more likely to tear from sharp objects....however I believe both Rhino and Line-X offer lifetime warranties against tears and other types of damage or defects.

To me...both Rhino and Line-X cost more money than they're worth....but they're awfully nice. As much as I dislike drop ins for what they'll do to your bed, my truck came with one from the factory and for the time being I intend to leave it there. All of my other trucks I just bought one of those thick 3/8 inch rubber mats that lay in the bottom of the truck. I've also seen people cut plywood to lay in the bottom. Both work well and are significantly cheaper than spray-ins.

I've had Rhino in mine for close to 5 years now and other than a bit of sun fading, it's held up very well. I've tossed a lot of stuff back there, including mulch, gravel, topsoil, tools etc and it still looks good.

I prefer the softer rubbery feel of the Rhino over the Line-X 'cause when I crawl around back there, it's easier on the hands and knees. I don't think you can go wrong with either Brand R or L. No idea about the other.

I think one of the deciding factors between Rhino and LineX has to be the person doing the job. The products are quite similar. I prefered the LineX due to the hot application. It is almost dry when it hits the truck, therefore it can be applied thicker on the sides where it might run. I also prefer the harder finish. Mine has held up well on both trucks. And, $400 bucks seems to be the going rate.
Re:LineX or Rino or Signature Brand????
I've loaded 1 ton pallets in trucks with both Rhino and LineX. The Rhino pulls up easier than the lineX. IMO if your just going to haul average stuff go with the softer compound because things will stay in place better.
If you are going to slide heavy things such as pallets in and out then go with the harder compound such as LineX.
The quality of all spray in liners depends on the install.

what about heat from stacks. I just spent 5k haveing my truck painted with a new hood and bed rails and step bars. I'm going to go ahead and slap down the $ for the spray in liner but I have stacks [undecided] will they hurt the liner?
DM01

It's all in the install. If the Rhino is sprayed on too think it will look like cottage cheese.
The same with the Line-X if the installer doesn't know what he's doing he can really make it look bad as well. :

I have the Line-X in my truck and love it, it's got too be one of my favorite mods and worth every penny of the $360 I paid for it. 8) One thing to make the installer do is to take and spray the edge of the tailgate that faces the bed (when open) and also the back edge of the bed that faces the tailgate. This will keep all the crap from scratching those two spots when you shovel out the bed.
You know that anoying crack that everything falls into. >

Re:LineX or Rino or Signature Brand????
I've had both Rhino and Line-X. Currently Line-X on the truck. No complaints about quality and durability. Like has been said before, you can have the best product but if it isn't applied correctly, you'll have wasted your money. The price is just about right, it seems for all around the nation. Mine was $425., over the rails. When I did the Rhino, it wasn't over the rails and I sure regretted not having it done. Never heard of your signature brand, but that doesn't mean anything. See if you can get some customer references from the signature brand dealer. See what they think. Better if they aren't recent customers but ones who've had the product for several years, because this is when real problems will show up, like fading, spotting, tears in lining, etc. We use to have a dealer who sold Gator Lining, another spray in product. Didn't last very long. Terrible application and of course, looked the same.

~Dave

I have Line X on my bed/rails and rhino lining on my rockers. The rhino seems tackier to the touch. I have had no chips taken out of it yet from rocks. The Line X in the bed is much harder and stuff does NOT stay put. Also I have a bunch of slices in it from loading/unloading plywood and throwing firewood in. I am thinking about putting in a rubber mat to help with that tho.

Ben
Re:LineX or Rino or Signature Brand????
Had both and I would say that the linex is my preference but what you are going to have in the bed is what should sway you one way or the other. The Rhino is better at gripping stuff in the bed although the linex is pretty good at most stuff except hard plastic such as used on an ice chest. The LineX is notably more durable if you do a lot of stuff like shoveling gravel, dragging heavy sharp objects in the bed, etc. While beauty is in the eye of the beholder the LineX will stay looking better longer. I hate to belabor what has already been said but make sure you get a good installer for whichever product you choose. At any rate if your not going to haul the kind of stuff that chews up bedliners and you prefer the looks of the Rhino then that would be that would be the better choice. On the other hand if you do haul the stuff that is hard on bedliners the Linex is going to give you quite a bit better durability but with a less grippy service.
Re:LineX or Rino or Signature Brand????
Due to its harder surface finish, Line-X will be easier to load heavy stuff like furniture and major appliances. Been there, and really liked the Line-X for that purpose. Rhino will grab just a bit more and be a bit less resistant to things shifting around.

The surface finish of Line-X will be more even and to me looks nicer. but thats a personal thing of course.

When I need to crawl around back there loading suitcases or just to travel "nice" I put the canopy on, the bedrug in, and the back end is good enough to sleep in. when I want to do real work, both of those come off and I can haul anything from refrigerators to road mix.
It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

I have the Rhino over the rail. It has been abused a few times with full loads of broken brick and concrete rubble. Then roughly off loaded with shovels and sometimes the shovels hit the wheel wells really hard. So far no obvious damage except for a small chip (about 3/16" dia) on the lip of the tailgate from a huge piece of rough concrete being slid over the edge. Where the shovels hit the wheel wells there is a light mark that is hard to see, but no damage. Rhino works well for me.
