Lets Talk Transmission Upgrades

Ive got a 98.5 Ctd with what i think is a 47re, Ive decided to lift it on 37s and add a edge juice with attitude, and maybe stack a smarty and add a hot vp44, and some bigger injectors down the road. what can i do to make my trans hold up to the added torque and strain from the big tires and performance mods?

Whats a good valvebody to run?
What kind of TC should i run?
Do i need to upgrade the clutch packs?

Goerend, Suncoast, DTT are all good products. If your gonna pull the trans for the converter you might as well build it while its out if you have alot of miles on it. A stock tranny won't hold up to ONE of the mods your planning. Fill out your sig by the way.

You will need some billet shafts, and a flexplate to go with the TC, and VB too. I am still running stock clutches and seals in my transmission with my upgraded parts. Its been great so far.

On top of tranny mods, Your gonna need more air if your doin any more then one of those fuel mods. A bigger single (around 62 or 64/71/14 or 16 if stacking chips/programmers) a set of compounds would do you even better especially if your gonna stack, and add injectors.

I would say you'll prob be needing a fully built trans to handle all that too.

My DTT has treated me very well so far.
