keeping intercooler boots on

I have one boot that I keep popping off. It a silicon one with equal torque clamps on it. Its on the cold pipe of my twins. Any secrets to keeping these things on? Is there anythign I can use to make it stick better?

Thanks

Hairspray, I might try that, but I have no clue where I would find a non-water based epoxy.

Hairspray always works for me.
The cheapest brand you can find the better.
Are you using a torque wrench on the clamps?
The clamps need to be much tighter than most people would do by feel alone.

That's a very bad idea. That might cause a run away engine and destroy your engine. Put soapy water on the intercooler boots and see if you see any bubbles. Or pressurize the system to about 20-30 psi and see if you hear any air leaking.

I will try the hairspray, I probably have some cheap stuff lying around.

Infidel, what torque should I go to? I try to go pretty tight and I did end up breaking one clamp.

i've used dish soap. regular old blue dawn. a very light film of it helps things go together, and once it dries it STICKS.
