new PDR intercooler boots
new PDR intercooler boots
I got my new lower intercooler boots from PDR in the mail last week.
last night I started installing them. I must say that they are way more heavy duty than the stock ones! I guess that since the intercooler is bigger on my '01 than on my '97, that it pushed the stock boots into the fender. causing them to rub a hole into the boot. This could be seen from the fenderwell.
so i suggest you guys look at yours! mine had a small hole in it.
they were a very tight fit. i had to bend the fender back with a pair of channel locks. It took a while to get the driver side installed. At first, I thought i was just gonna put the new boot on the bottom, then put the 2' or so piece of pipe on, then hook it on the the air horn. but no! it was too tight of a fit. I had to piece it all together, and take the air horn off to get it to fit back together.
and let me tell you, the stock boot that i didnt change out (connects air horn to pipe) is a real tight fit. but, it still has room between the two for expansion.
anywho. i think i will be satisfied.
p.s.
i also got my bhaf on last night. sounds great. hope it works out.

Re:new PDR intercooler boots
I just ordered some Piers Booties for my 24V, and rescently installed some on my 12V. They are Very hard to get on.
The turbo piping is like 3.5", and the Piers Booties are like 3.25" lol, atleast it feels like it. Make sure the A/C switch isn't rubbing the boot on the passenger side near the intercooler (especially for those guys with stock boots)
