Anyone running these? If so, do you like them? Was the install kit lacking anything?
Looking at a set of the 130 Watt long range offroad ones to put on my bumper.

 

Are these the same KC Hilites as posted in this thread? If so, I'd consider the lifespan before purchacing. I haven't had any experience with KC Hilites, so I can't say if they last that long, but I figure this info may help.

If you're not set of KC's I highly recommend LightForce's 170 Driving light. I put a set on my truck after my stainless KC's started rusting > and love them. They have a rotatable beam like a Maglite flash light so you can have a spot or flood light and they also have different filters for driving in fog, rain , or snow. You can also rotate the mounting base if you have to mount them close the the grill or bumper. They are also a little cheaper than the KC's as well. 8)

Thanks for the heads up on the LightForce products. I am not set on KC. After I posted, I changed my mind to wanting more of a spotlight beam, like the KC Daylighters (the Slimlites are a pencil beam).
I am going to check out the LightForces links right now. I like the fact that the beam is rotatable and I can get different patterns with the same light. That is 8)

Central 4WD is the cheapest place I found to buy the KC Slimlites from, $144 for the black set, wiring included.
They have the LightForce 170's at $187 + $36 for the harness. Now I have to decide if the extra $80 is worth it. Probably is because of the versatility of them 170's.

 

I posted the original KC Hilites thread. Since that time the company (KC) sent me a set of reflectors and 130W halogen bulbs to replace the sealed beams. I would definately stay away from the Wagner 150W sealed beams. The customer service at KC is top notch. I just hope that the 130W halogen bulbs last longer than the sealed beams. They're supposed to be 125-130 hr. instead of the 20-25 hr. on the sealed beams.

Just a point of note. Mine were not the slim version.

 

Also another light that is excellent is the PIAA 80XT's in driving pattern. Excellent lights with easy install. They have been the best looking lights I have seen. My brother has the Hella lights on his truck but they don't seem to put out as much light.

I remember seeing pics of your truck with lights up front, are they the PIAA's you mention above?

One other nice feature of the LightForce stuff is the lenses and the housings are suposed to be indestructable (spelling). They used to have a video on thier site of a guy hitting some lenses with a 3lb sledge.

I made my own wiring harness for about $20 when I bought mine, one thing to remember is to use a good heavy gauge wire and at least a 30amp relay. I also run a set of the fog/rain lenses on my 170's and it's great for driving in thick fog or those rainy mornings.
