It holds the wastegate closed longer for more boost. Can't use a boost elbow on your turbo as it has a hard line. Save yourself some bucks, go to the hardware store and purchase a turnbuckle and assortment of hooks for it ('bout $5 bucks if an expensive hardware store).

Do a search on here for "turnbuckle" and you'll get plenty of pics and such to understand it better.

What kind of affect does the turnbuckle have on EGTs when towing? Is it better or worse for EGTs. Thanks in advance

It should help with lowering EGT's.

An automatic will keep boost up, a manual truck will drop boost at every shift.
