I'm a happy man with my rebuilt tranny!

Got my truck back from Phil (mcmopar) today, with a trans rebuilt with a Goerend high pressure VB and low stall TC in it. I know its nothing fancy, but man it feels so much better than the screwed up one that was in there. Now I can do the few small mods that I want to do without worrying about blowing something up.

When it gets in gear, you know its in gear, and the TC locks up fast. And no more crazy revving when accelerating onto the highway!

Anyway, just thought I'd let you guys know how it went, I know its not that special or anything compared to what some of you have, but it was within my budget and I've got to say I'm very impressed.

Oh yeah!

Should I go with a #10? Seems like everyone likes those.

wcbcruzer did you grind your own?

Naw I didn't grind my own. I guess I would've but I wanted to keep my stock plate just in case. #10 is a nice plate with good gains. Since you got an upgraded tranny, you might even want to go with a higher hp plate. Not sure how much power your tranny can hold now but I always like to keep things reliable. Next do the gsk washer mod (free). I've done it, works great so far. I heard a couple thing about a runaway? Not sure if it's linked to the washer mod, I'm gonna do a search.

I bet if you did the #10 plate and gsk you'd be very happy. (for the first 3 months) Just take it a step at a time so by the time you reach your tranny's limit, you would've wore yourself out by upgrading so many times.

Yeah Phil said that my trans could probably take about 350-400 HP, so I'm thinking I may try to eventually get to the 300HPish area. I don't want to push the limit, I'm a person that likes to leave a bit of a margin between the limit and the actual "whateveritmaybe". I'll take your advice and do the plate and GSK first cruzer.

That should be more than enough for what I'll want to do with the truck. I'll just work my way up slowly.

I remember a while back someone making up a thread about the "best single mod you can do to you're truck", and I only saw about one or two people talk about a nice trans, but this one has to be on the top of my list. I just like to accelerate nice and easy and feel that thing cruise through the gears .

Now, to the wonderful task of clearing off digital camera cards to document my KDP Killing process...
