Question Idea!

I Am Planing To Hop Up My Cummins With Some Mods And Thought I Would Get Some Opinions On This Combo! I Want An Edge EZ, 150 injectors, and Propane and Water Injection both. Does This Sound Like A Good Idea? Also Will I Run Into Any unseen Problems ie..Trans? Also Will This Combo Blow As Much Smoke As You All Know I Want! Thanks

Do a drag comp instead of an EZ. Lots more power and smoke. Stay away from propane AND water(I suggest water only) unless you plan on upgrading to studs and o-ringing the head. Your also gonna need to upgrade your turbo(PS 64/14 should work nicely) to keep the EGT's in check and upgrade your fuel system(FASS) to support the power. Also gonna need a new intake (I suggest a scotty 2). Your tranny is most definately gonna need to be built. I suggest giving Dave at Goerends a call if you plan on staying at that power level.

If you want to do all that you will be looking at around 6k in tranny work, and a new turbo, plus fuel system upgrades.

Get some gauges, maybe a Smarty, and read DTR. A lot. That will help you develop a plan. If you let us know what your goals are (towing, sled pulling, drag racing, street roding...) that will help a lot. And please don't go around town smoking all the time making the rest of us look bad. Not that some smoke is bad. I hope it ain't, cause I would be in trouble!

Just wondering why you arent suggesting DTT, I know you usually cast your vote that way.

that combo will blow alot of smoke cause the stock turbo is not near big enough to flow the air needed to burn all that fuel. wich also means you will have egts that will peg out the pyro fast. also on the list of things that are not going to be good in this combo is the stock trans and this kinda power . so with that said you should also add a new charger to that list and atleast a tc/vb for that poor trans

I Really Want To Get More Overall Power! Would Just A Chip And Water Alone Be Enough To See A Major Difference? Also How Hard Are Guages To Put In? Thanks

Just a Edge Comp/Smarty would be a major increase in power.

Gauges are pretty easy, I did mine (first time) in a few hours. No fuel pressure due to having a 12v, but it was a pretty easy job.

A couple of reasons. For one, DTT is very expensive. And also, dave has a proven product that performs at 500hp and less level for dang near half of what the DTT would be. I've always thought that if your at 500 or less and want to stay there, then go with Goerend. Dave is a stand up guy and I highly respect him. He's also got a warranty that is hands down the best. I only wish dodge had his warranty. He's also got a great price. But if you plan on going over 500 or want to break horsepower records, then DTT is your best bet. I'd go with goerends if I was gonna stay at the level I'm at but I plan on going far beyond 600hp and the only trans that I know of that has done that reliable time after time after time is DTT.

Yes to the first three, and mose definately to the FP gauge. The lift pump on your truck is pretty weak at stock fueling, and when you start trying to suck more it can get badly over taxed quickly, starving your expensive VP for the fuel that cools it.

Yes get a Fp gauge.

if u starv the IP then it will die. if you feed it 13psi @ WOT it MIGHT die. At least with a Fp gauge and a fuel system you will have some peace of mind, MAYBE.

you dont have the power to need water/meth yet. If you plan on getting big HP numbers plan on getting a big single or twins.

Give us a number where u want to be and we can suggest the mods you need.
