HT3B+Hx35 VS. BD-Power Super "B" Twins
There was not a large reduction in peak EGTs, however the amount of time at the peak has been greatly reduced. The driveability and smoke control were well worth the upgrade. With the baby HX55 I could close down a 4 lane road until the charger spooled in all gears, with the twins I leave a dark puff at take off and light puffs at the shifts. I was basically relegated to 2x2 on the box to keep it down, now I run on 5x5 all the time. I have also seen my mileage go from 17.2 to 18.1 since adding the twins.
As far as Dyno-ing goes they have been dyno-ed.
With the baby HX55 the truck dyno-ed 506/948 with the temp at about 50 deg. I was able to build 43psi on the dyno compared to 44psi on the street. With the twins the truck dyno-ed 505/1052 with the temp at about 65 deg. I was able to build 65psi on the dyno compared to 70psi on the street. This was using the same dyno (Dynojet 248) both times. I plan to try to dyno again on another dyno when I have time.

And one more thing, if you live anywhere around Atlanta and want twins, we do them at Garmon Diesel. Tell Jeff what you want, and let him put together what you need. We put together a set for an 01 494 HP Dodge and I fell in love again. Really smooth but power at the touch.

Hey joefarmer, I was just looking at your pics. How much work was it to pull the front of your truck off? In two months or so, I'll be doing a cam swap. Looking at the pic, I think that the job is easier with the front off for the twins install. I'm curious how did you get the lifters out? Did you make a tool or bought one? Thanks for your info.
Hey Mike!
The front of the truck must come apart for a cam swap since the cam is right behind the bumper. As a first time beginner, it took me ~8 hours to get the front end torn apart and the front gear cover off (a few people stopped by randomly throughout the day to help).
The actual cam swap part of the install took 6 hours. Merrick made me a tool that looks like the Cummins tool for holding the tappets in place with the cam out. I made the dowels (had to wrap them with a layer of masking tape to make sure they held the tappets). The string and rubber stopper came from a milking inflation.
If you're thinging of attempting this without a FSM, don't. PM me if you need more info or a line on a FSM on CD.

Yes I would recomand the 35 and 3b, and I would get JR to do the work on the turbos, and make up the pipes also. His stuff is top notch.
Also, why do you change your name so often?
