I was planning on using one of the 392's that GDP sells on the 98. It should work fine...set it to 40psi and forget it is what I'm hoping to do!

ok, my 24 valve needs one too! just hooked it up, and the 30 psi fp gauge pegged right away...and some stock fittings started leaking. thats with the stock 24v Overflow valve set to around 5 psi. now im confused, How would you set the pressure to 40 psi? (12 valve)

and if i was to put it on my 24v, whats the max pressure i could use?

Could i put a regulator on the feed line, and block of some fuel, or must i use a regulator on the return line?

I was gonna run one off the return line! That way the pump get's all it needs, but all the extra fuel is pushed through for cooling!

Don't know, don't know, and don't know! Real helpful ain't I??

I'm wanting to junk the overflow valve because I hear of lots of problems with them. If I can find a reliable regulator, I don't need the factory junk OF valve!

Another thing I'm looking for, if it will work, is a boost compensating regulator. That way I can ramp up the pressure when the boost comes up!

Ok I tried it now...

I put on the electric pump from a 200? ford its a BOSCH pump, (similar to the walbro 392 ?)

Anyway i put it inline with the stock lift pump, I mounted the electric pump on the frame, running 3/8" lines from the tank to pump, and pump to the filter screen (stock) i didnt use a regulator, the stock overflow valve with a stretched spring keeps it at 40-42 psi at idle, and at cruising speeds

I dont have 100% clear WOT readings, but the pressure still dropped! the gauge went to 0 one or a few times, on a hard pull over 3000 rpm
BUT the truck runs a loooot better with this pump, before it popped out of the exhaust from 2800-4000 rpm, and fell right on his face at the same rpm, so now it pulls hard to 4000 rpm!

So I say it works great!!!!!

So it's "feeding" the stock pump, correct??
