yeah. we use those on all the apparatus. its a kussmaul, but its not really for a block heater. it is used to keep the charging system full at all times or there are some that have a 100% duty cycle compressor to keep the tanks full if it develops a small air leak.

i was looking at the link you posted and this one looks like what youll need. all the ones ive ever seen have the plug, then a good sized box that has to be mounted somewhere. maybe this one is different. even these wear out though and are a little spendy

thanks Brett,
it's not for the block heater it's for a water truck at work...we have to keep them plugged in to keep them from freezing...the dang drivers cant remember to unplug before they drive off....well when they forget they bust a $200 marine plug so we may try one or two of these

I plugged mine in for the first time I leave for work in the dark for the graveyard shift and what i did was to rap part of the cord around the side mirror to remember it is too dark to see outside. ED

the plug is at the back of the trucks so that wont work...teaching them to wrap it around the mirror would be just as hard as teaching them to unplug the truck....this is a big company so they wont mind buying the auto eject plugs...making stuff idiot proof cost money

well if thats what your needed them for, the i strongly recommend a kussmaul. they are great to use. when they get some age on them you still need to keep and eye and ensure proper operation. the other thing we use is a pony section of cord about 18" long. so if it doesnt eject, the pony section is all that is left and it doesnt pull the cord out of the reel or do any other damage. its cheap insurance. they also are the right size for the kussmaul recepticale

those are great!! I had one on my 01 CTD thanks to DTR reading
but those are actually the wrong style for what I need...the heaters we use are not small block heaters like our trucks have..these have the funky BIG style plugs that have the "keyed prongs".....thanks for the help tho
