Yeah, just drill a hole in your hood to run the fuel hose and mount the guage directly to your hood.... ;D

 

If you go with electrical, you won't have fuel in the cab. I know that everyone says to buy mechanical, but at work we have pressure transducers (sensors) that run 0-1000psi and read accurately to the 0.5 psi. I know that there is NO mechanical guage that can raad that accurate, especial over that range. It all depends on how much you are willing to spend. If the Manufacturer says that they have not tested with diesel, I personally wouldn't use it. Just because you use quality part going to the guage doesn't mean that something inside the guage won't fail.

That's why I use Isspro gauges instead of Autometer.

 

I didn't use the fuel pressure gauge from Autometer either. Based on that fact that they hadn't done their testing and didn't recommend it for jello burners. That's why I went with ... whatever brand I said earlier ... and it is electric. Been good so far!

Im pretty sure he doesnt want to pay $600 for a Druck Pressure Tranducer......

ISSPRO mechanicals are the best - designed for diesel and built tough - have been used on the big rigs forever.

 

I'm still thinking about going autometer. I'm not too worried about the fuel in the cab and them not testing it. What I am wondering is, will 15 psi be good enough if I dont plan on bombing my truck too much. Maybe a new tranny, injectors, comp, and possibliy turbo but that all wont happen for years and by then I will be able to afford a new fuel gauge that goes past 15 psi, so what do you guys think. I don't really like the looks of the isspro, but I like the looks of the white autometer. So do you guys think a 15psi fuel gauge will be good enough for me? Thanks

BTW, I Just realized spelled gauges wrong, but I fixed it!

 

If you're going to upgrade the injectors, turbo, etc, then I would get a bigger range fuel pressure gauge. You'll need it when you have to update your fuel system too!

I've heard some bad stories about Autometer FP gauges on TDR and I think (not sure) it was a couple of years ago that Autometer came out with the disclaimer not to use their FP gauge on diesels. Use it if you wish and you're comfy with the caveats. I must admit, I like the way they look over all the rest!

Autometers are good guages and very nice looking but they are, for the most part, for gassers.

 

Jingle bells ;D ;D ;DSanta wants to get me some gauges for christmas. Question- ??? do the Isspro gauges come with everything needed to install them?????I can't find a pillar mount for them on their website.

 

They are supposed to have the pillar mounts - I dont think they made it to the catalog though.....give them a call....888-447-7776.....if they dont have them, any pillar mount for a 2 1/16" guage will work (that you can get just about anywhere including genos)

 

Thanks Dr. Evil. Do you guys like the white or black isspro gauges better? I want them to look good at night and be very visible.
