Re:Guages

AS I said before you'll want a mechanical fuel pressure guage. The autometers are good guages. You will want a 0-60 psi boost guage, a 0-1800 F EGT guage, a tranny temp guage (probably only 1 range), and the fuel pressure should be 0-30 psi (the problem is that autometer only offers FP in 0-15 psi, and 0-100 psi), that being said, it is possible to have more than 15 psi fuel pressure (especially if you have installed a pusher pump or made similar mods). Also, the FP on the autometer isnt necessarily for diesel whereas the Isspro is more suited for diesel applications (they have been used on Semi's for many years).

Re:Guages

I couldn't find a Boost guage that was 0-60 by autometer. Do you have a link to one?

Re:Guages

Are those gauges on yet???

You'll be happier than a piggy in poo poo when you get them on...I don't know how I lived without mine for 1 1/2 years. I was lost and didn't know it.

Re:Guages

I agonized over the decision as well, bookmarking 10's of websites, having Geno's catalogs dispersed throughout the bathrooms in the house and ended up going with my gut. I'd had Autometers on my 68 Mustang and they looked cool, worked just fine, and outlasted half the stock gauges (despite the fact they were 26 years younger). I'm pleased with mine.

I wish the wife would let me put some on her 04, but alas, she doesn't want that "look" she says. It is my resolve to convince her by June that "look" is a cool thing.

Re:Guages

Another idea just hit me....Not sure if this a dumb question or anything but when I wire the guages up to the battery, is it bad to jump another vehicle off that battery or won't it even bother the guages at all? Just wanted to be double sure cause I dont feel like burning that much money..Thanks

Did anyone happen to find a pic of this pod mounted in a truck? I'm just curious to know which side it is on and how much stuff it blocks. Thanks

Re:Guages

Thats is about the best pillar mount I have seen. I was curious as to how the speaker would fit in. Once i get the cash flow, I am thinking of going with a similar setup. Not sure how I will do the installation though

Re:Guages

When you order the gauge pod, you have to tell them whether or not you have the tweeter up there and it'll come with a tweeter or without. Easy as pie.

Re:Guages

I'm interested in Autometer but just came across this. Can someone explain it to me? It was right on their website.

Re:Guages

Manufacturers don't want the legal ramifications of fuel in the cab so they add the standard disclaimer.

My mechanical Isspro gauge has been mounted on my dash for over two years without a drip of a leak.
It's plumbed with a stainless steel braided line.
The whole gauge setup came from www.wildcatdiesel.com.
Use top quality components, and you'll be OK.
