Thanks

3rd gens use a high pressure common rail to supply fuel to the electronic injectors. Rail pressure monitoring is an excellent tuning aid, since you can watch how pressure, timing and duration boxes & downloaders (software) alter the ECM's stock fuel map.

Besides, watching the needles move keeps me occupied when I can't find a good radio station... need to get one of those newfangled MP3 thingys...

Stock RP is 5-7K psi at idle, cruise 10-15K psi, WOT is 22.5K psi max

Quad Race on PL3 raises cruise RP to 15-20K psi, WOT goes up to 27K psi... gets the stock Holset up to 45 psi and EGTs to 1600*F

Youve got that kind of pressure coming into the cab?

The RP gauges available for purchase are strictly electronic... and $$$

Because of the extremely high pressures, it just not feasible (darn near impossible!) to build a mechanical kit - and trust me, we tried.

FWIW, those are water-jet cutting pressures used on concrete, steel, etc.
That's why the fuel has to be filtered so well; even microscopic particles can quickly erode the hardened injector tips.

..with all these electronics in the cab you don't know how to get and install a $ 20.00 MP3 player ?

..no wonder there's a huge fire extinguisher on the floor....

Joking aside, I am REALLY impressed with your setup, my compliments to you, it's really an awesome setup.

XLR8R: Do mind snapping a photo of the temperature sensor on the rear axle? I was thinking about getting one. I, like you, like gauges as well. So far I've got the three in my sig, and I'd like to add a tranny temp, rear axle temp, and engine oil temp.
