Garrett GT37R Stage 3 Turbo Kit?

I'm not sure I'll be able to afford the BD twins so I was thinking of trying a BB turbo. Looks like the only ones available are from Garrett. I'm looking at the stage 3. Does anybody run this turbo? The downpipe adapter looks funky. It doesn't look like it will mate to a HX40 style downpipe. Here is the link.

It is a nice unit for the 400HP crowd..... The turbo is able to make around 475 but egt's get pretty warm in this HP level.

Hmmm they are stating it is good for above 500hp? Bummer. Looks like BB turbo options are still very limited.

I actually made 536 with mine and mass diesel sells an adapter so you can bolt on an hx-40 pipe. Spool up is amazing for a charger like that. But my pump is too much and it still gets hot on me, so i am actually looking to upgrade. PM if you would like

Is this enough charger for around 500hp in a 24v?

I have a friend that has one and the best he has seen is around 490 RWHP. But at this level it is hot..... This is on a 12v and he has around 600-650 HP worth of fuel, he just needs more air. As mentioned it is lightening spoolup but this is due to its limited size.

Yea I'm starting to think that I should have gone the Garrett route? I will know for sure this weekend when I finish the tuning on the new turbo if I made the wrong choice or not.....

I just got the chance to buy one that my buddy had on his 12v for dirt cheap but.... I just lost my fifth gear nut so I'm gonna tear the tranny down and rebuild it instead.

The turbo did very well on his truck, not sure what it dyno'ed at though cause Dunbars dyno broke right before he was up at schieds.

It did spool very quick even though I think his LC DV's dumped way too much fuel too early. I wish I had the chance to see what it would do on mine. I think it would stil be rather toastie with the injectors I am running.

So how fast do these things spool compared to a stocker HX35/12? I think it would probably be a sweet top turbo in a set of twins

It was a little bit laggier than his stock but not by much. I was thinking the same thing about the twins too...
