adj. boost elbow

Hi all, I have a 2001 3/4 ton, 4x4, with the big line relo. kit on it from vulcan, Otherewise it is a stock diesel dodge truck. My question is, if I install a adj. boost elbow on the truck, what kind of boost pressure should I adj. it too. I am installing a boost guage as well, just do not want to melt every thing down.
Thanks Cole

i would not do it till you have the`gauge in and a boost fooler. if you do you will probably overoverboost and throw codes and put your truck in limp mode.

Don't worry........... yet. You wont melt anything if you bump up your boost. You can try running about 30 lbs of pressure. But you will need to start adding more fuel via a performance module or injectors, to get anything more than that. At that point, yeah.......EGT's over 1200 degrees will start making your pistons toasty.

i just went from a boost fooler to an adjustable wastegate from BD,
best upgrade ive done in a while, sets your pressure at 30,
i dropped egts and gained mpg going from the boost elbow (bleed orifice).
plus my cruising boost is more stable and overall feel is simply better.

Oh yeah.......That really will wake up you truck. Sounds like you're on the right path. But because you're adding fuel (Power Puck) you are gonna need some gauges. Pyrometer and Fuel pressure should be first. Then a boost and if you have an auto tranny, a tranny temp gauge.

I am hoping you post your results,I have an 01 with 4" exhaust and a SB cai and was thinking of the power puck.Everything I read on people with the power puck are stacking them and I didn't want to go that far,I would like to know if there as good as the advertisement.

I installed the power puck and boost elbow tonight and went for a test drive, there was night and day difference, really ran good, smooth all the way around, very strong on the bottom too. I called the power puck people to see the the puck for the 2001 had boost fool, and they said it did not. So far my truck has not set any over boost codes yet, works for me.
Thanks cole
