i need to purchase and install this item on my 01 CTD. i am lacking this one guage and i know the importance of it. so, what pressure range am i to seek out and if there is "search" of how to install it.

I'd say you need a 0-30psi gauge since you want to have 15 psi at idle and not too much drop at WOT- so the needle will stay centered.

I like my Isspro gauges. If you go for direct fuel you'll need a needle valve to keep teh gauge silent. (vibration dampener)
If you want to go a little further you can order the wildcat maxflow system with a gauge. Better flow and all the hardware to install the gauge
