Fuel Pressure Gauge

Got one on order. Should be in Wednesday. It'll go right next to the new trans temp gauge. Hopefully it will show me some good numbers.

If you are going with a mechanical gauge put in a fuel gauge isolator at the firewall to prevent a cab full of diesel fuel. I had a line blow off my gauge and shot about six ounces of diesel all over my cab before I got it stopped. Isspro makes one expressly for fuel gauges, # R7797....

....OR.......
Use the proper line, connectors, and techniques for the installation and forget the isolator that usually goes bad anyway.

80,000 plus miles with a mechanical gauge mounted in the middle of the dash plumbed with needle valve, a stainless braided line and -AN connectors.....and NO isolator.

I'm going electric. I don't want to deal with a split line in the cab. I had an oil pressure gauge in an old 72 GMC I had along time ago let go and painted everything with hot oil. Wasn't fun.

It's an Autometer gauge. The info on it did say if used with a Ford to use an isolator, but didn't mention anything about needing one for the ISB.

I am not sure if the Cummins puts the same kind of pulses on the fuel system as the Ford/PSD, but I know of many sending unit failures on Ford/PSDs (ISSPRO as well as other brands). I guess I'll get to test out the theory when I start my 12-valve project!

Mike,
Thanks for building a great series of gauges.
I've been running my Isspro EVs for ~80,000 miles, and with the exception of a failed Trans guage "Amplifier Box"
(which was promptly replaced under warranty) they have been rock-solid.

Does anyone have a picture on how to mount one on 01? I just got my Isspro and just came with two small fittings and 1/8 tube along with a isolater. What other stuff will I need fittings and tubing? Side question I also got the boost. What fittings and tubing do I need. Sorry but Isspro instructions are not the best for this newbie!

I pulled the Air Intake and drilled and tapped for tthe boost on my truck.
A couple on folks are selling a bolt that replaces one of the bolts for the valve cover (I think) that taps into a boost passage that makes it real easy to hook up.

Here's a how to for the boost guage
http://www.tstproducts.com/pdffiles/instboo24.pdf

Instead of tapping I used the boost port on the side of the block instead. You'll just need two bushings to go from 3/4 to 1/8.

Did you remove the first bolt or do I just screw my banjo bolt onto the existing one? Then what kind of hose do I put on the end of the banjo or is it another fitting to compress the stem?

Thanks again
