fuel gauge question
fuel gauge question
Quick question about my fp gauge. I have an isspro 30psi mech. no isolator, it used to be really noisy esp. at idle, the needle wasnt very jumpy, just noisy, then I found out about the needle valve, now its a lot quieter, but still makes some noise which is very annoying, my question is, could I have done some damage too it in the couple months I ran it without the needle valve?
How does it react now that you have the needle valve on it? Is there much air in the line to the guage? The valve should only be open a 1/4 turn just to get pressure. For the noise part i dont know but, my cousin has an isspro Boost guage that buzzes and it only reads 5lbs 13lbs then 25lbs. Its possible you did damage it. I would make shure you have most of the air out between the gauge and valve And work from there.
It might have some air in it, the needle valve is just cracked open, the reason I think I might have damaged it is because I destroyed an autometer 15psi gauge and it was noisy as hell!

needle valve solved my problem. If you ran it a long time you probably
did break the gauge.
One of my problems also that I used to have the gauge down by the four wheel drive shifter, just temporarily sitting there untill I bought the rest of my gauges now that I installed my gauges I have the steel braided fp line all snaked behind the dash up to the a-pillar, im thinking that its rubbing on somthing back there. Im going to wrap it in some foam or somthing like that. thanks for the comments guys!

I fially fixed that noisy gauge problem. I was right, the line was just rubbing on about everything it could behind the dash. Moved the gauge to the steering column pod, also wrapped the line in that foam door sealer tape stuff. Worked like a charm. Finally now some peace and quiet, so I can hear that turbo sing!!
