Question Front Differential Cover for Lifted Truck

I was really hoping to go with a Mag-Hytech on my Dana 60 front axle, but have since learned that it will not work with a lifted truck and after market trac bar.

Anyone out there found a good alternative?

Thanks!

Matt

Spend a lot of money and have a custom built track bar maybe. Or you could try spending a lot of money and having a custom diff cover built. Sounds like a lot of fun either way. I always like custom over standard any day. I wonder why the guys at the machine shop like me so much.

What about a regular chrome one? Are you saying it will bind on the cover? You can get chrome covers that are the same size as a standard.

If you want a chrome diff cover for the Dana 60 Mopar has one that is nice, and so does TransDap. Both go for around 40 bucks and can be purchased at Jeggs, or Summit.
It aluminum is what your want, Genuine Gear has some very nice looking polished ones with fins, they go for around 140 bucks and 4Wheel parts has them.
I have been trying to get one from Dynatac but they advertise them but don't want to sell them, so that is a possibility, let me know if you actually get one.
Also a new company called Wagner Machine Shop has a real nice heavy (this thing is made out of 1/4" thick steel plate) cover out. I am trying to contact them about it.

I don't understand why the Mag-Hytech will not work with the aftermarket trak-bar. Is the aftermarket so much different?

The Mag Hytech sticks out further than the stock cover.

The aftermarket trac bar doesn't have the "bend" that the OEM has to clear the cover.

Hence, they meet and rub each other the wrong way.

I would bet that they would be willing to make one in stainless that would look nice. Stainless is only $3.80 /lb and I think black steel is around $0.40 /lb.
