FP Gauge Install Questions

I am no mechanic, but thought I would try to do the FP gauge install on my own after 2nd IP failure.... I havent started yet but was looking things over and I'm stuck already....

Is there an easy way to get at the bottom of the fuel filter housing so I can get the new banjo bolt into place to get started?

Thanks

Take the canister right off the motor and do it on the bench. Easy as pie.

Another question...

I bought the ISSPRO gauge and kit from dieselmanor.... it came with the isolator, and 10' of airbrake hose, along with all of the fittings...

if i dont put the isolator on, and pick up a needle valve, is it ok to use that brake line hose right after the valve? or should I use the 3' of stainless braided hose and tie strap it furthur back away from the heat of the engine? and then go to the brake hose from the end of that and into the cab and gauge?

Hope that makes sense
