Which Air Filter?

Ok, I am sure this subject has been brought up ad naseum, but... I was not having any luck finding the specific info I needed while doing a search.

I have the BHAF on my rig. It has been on there at least 10,000 miles and it is starting to look kinda dirty. I changed my oil the other day and everything else appeared good except for the BHAF.

My question for ya'll is this: What would the best "bang for my buck" replacement be?

A diesel mechanic buddy of mine brought up a good point that since my current air fliter now (the BHAF) is not enclosed in a box, it is sucking in alot of hot air and dirt, and is probably killing my fuel mileage.

The only aftermarket air fliter set up with an enclosed box that I am cognizant of is the Volant Cold Air intake kit.

What are you opinions and thoughts? What would be my next best course of action??

Thanks, in advance.

I'm thinking of going to this... http://www.iceboxmanufacturing.com/
Currently I have a stock airbox with holes in the bottom. This icebox has an Amsoil nanofiber filter that requires no washing or oiling, just blowing it out with air. I have read on a one of the other sites about this set up and these Amsoil filters and they seem to be pretty popular and the airbox itself look pretty good too.

That "IceBox" looks cool but you can build your own heat shield for pretty cheap. There is a template floating around here somewhere. Since you already have the BHAF you could get another with a prefilter or AFE now makes a reusable dry filter that is supper cool. If they were available when i got my AFE I would have went dry rather than oiled....
