FASS/Lift Pump Question
FASS/Lift Pump Question
Hi,
Could someone straighten me out. I had some starting problems, so i brought the truck into the dealer. They say the lift pump is bad and I need to replace the fuel filter. He said that the replacement pump is an improved model, it pushes fuel from the tank rather than sucks it. So, I agree, but now I'm having second thoughts.
Does the FASS replace the lift pump? Would now be the perfect time to get a FASS since I'm replacing the lift pump (and it's pretty expensive at the dealer).
Thanks for the any help.

Yes, the FASS / FASS II replaces the old LP bolted to the side of the block. It mounts close to the fuel tank, but not in it.
The new DC LP replaces the old pump and they install a new "in the fuel tank LP" to push fuel.
I think I will go with the FASS II system when I need a new LP. (Before this winter)

I am not sure which one is the best vendor for the FASS. They are all selling the same system and the system includes everything that you need to install it. I didn't look around at the vendors here for mine. I bought mine from the dodge dealer when I had my fuel pressure tested.
Here is a site http://www.smokindiesel.com/dodge/24...ve_Fueling.htm I have done some business with Doug and he it a real good guy. The price is $560 which is pretty good. I can't believe that you couldn't find this, it took soooo long

DPP would take care of any service, and I didn't need any tech help.
