EZ and Boost

You can see what I got from my sig. line. But I don't get more than 20lbs. of boost from the EZ. Should I be getting more? Sound right? My truck flies right up to 20, then stops.....

The EZ won't add boost, the boost elbow will. The EZ has the boost fooler in it so that you can handle the higher boost from an elbow or trunbuckle.

So I really need to install the elbow? I hadn't installed it because of my remaining warranty. I can unplug the EZ and take my truck in if I need to, but with the elbow?

Well lets look at things realisticly. Are your EGT's too high? If not what do you want more boost for?

No not really too high, I can pull 1200 on the stock turbo, whithout a lot of effort. Especially when we go up into the high country. Just kind of thinking.... Why not? I got it in the box. So the only advantage would be lower EGT's?

you'll need the elbow to see the higher boost numbers and it's not that hard to swap it for stock if you are preparing to take it in for warranty work.

Install the elbow. In my case I had to use a turnbuckle because my auto has the hardline. I could easily hit 1200+ egt without the turbuckle, since the EZ and turnbuckle, I haven't gone over 1100 even towing the camper. The moral of the story is: less egt's=more go pedal=

Since you have an automatic, you can use the turnbuckle on your hardlined HY35-9 turbo, or you can use a .22 shell casing to plug the hard line.

Hey,

First question, guess I'm buying. I just got my EZ off of ebay and it did not come with an elbow. Where Can I get one?
Thanks

Kevin

I'm thinkin if yer handy you can build one. Mine came with my comp and all it is, is an elbow with a tiny hole in it. Don't know what plugging would do.
The 22 casing sounds like a good idea, but I think I'd drill a small hole in it.
Good luck.

The blocked wastegate gets your boost up, but the stock turbos don't add any power over ~32 lbs for the HY35 (automatic) and ~35 lbs for the HX35 (manuals). These numbers are not exact, lots of variables like elevation, fueling mods, intake, exhaust... There is an adjustable elbow available for the manuals and using a spring or turnbuckle for the autos will allow some adjustment.
