How many / what type of extras do you have for all of these additional switches? I think it is pretty neat, I am just curious.
If you're asking "Why?", that's a very good question. I'm wanting to do this just cause I think it'd be cool. The dorkiness is really coming out of me here, but I really love going on long-distance trips in my truck (I drive around the state of Texas about every other weekend, usually averaging about 675 miles per weekend) and feel like somewhat of a terrestrial pilot way up in my truck, going 85 MPH, trying to make the best time possible. I enjoy having lots of bells and whistles to mess with, so this is just a way to add some of what I see to be a "coolness factor" and also give me something else to play with. Honestly, when getting in and out of the truck to run errands around town (for example), I don't see myself using the Ignition Control Center. But when someone gets in for a ride and you flip those red covers down and fire it up like that (with the big Cummins roar at start), I just think that'll be awesome.

As for what kinds of extras I have that I want to make switched. Well...there are several now and I hope to have several more later. I've been throwing around the idea of having lighting switches right above my head on the smaller console that I posted earlier in the thread. I don't know HOW to do it yet (but that's what the internet's for!), but I could have switches for:

Parking Light Turn-On
Headlight Turn-On
Fog Light Turn-On
Aux Gauge Light Turn-On
Backup Light Turn-On
Dash Strobe Light Turn-On
Radar Detector Turn-On

That's just to name a few. So...there are possibilities if you're willing to go to the trouble to wire it up.

Here is the creative vision I'm eventually going for:

I don't plan on going so deep with it, but hope to create a line of switches across the garage door opener in the above console. The center one would be a pull switch with a short lanyard for the air horns. Two of them would be longer for marker light and headlight blink. I am a great believer in setting up a relay to operate whatever, and just a grounding switch to operate it. That means only one small wire going to the switch. Keeps life easier going through windshield posts, ect and you are not dragging power up there. It is also much easier if you are dealing with a double throw or double contact switch.

Great Idea...I also like the idea of all of the individual switches...It seems comparable to the custom conversion vans with all of the diffenent panels. Keep us posted

Well as it so happens, my remote start unit has a wire specifically for this purpose. It's a Blue/White wire. All I have to do is give it a (-) ground pulse and it will initiate the start sequence. This is great for several reasons, mainly that I won't have to add any relays. Just a SPST switch with a (-) ground signal going through it. Also, it will be safer because if the truck is started and a key isn't put into the ignition, it will kill the engine as soon as the break is depressed (anti-theft feature). I think I'll put an on/off togle right before the momentary toggle just to add a switch and a step before beginning the sequence.

Well yeah you could do that too, but what's the fun in THAT simplicity?
