Re:Edge EZ installation questions

Next question ??? I have an 01 with Manual....do I even need this? And what is the brass fitting described on the edge website that enables greater than 20 psi boost? It is listed under the automatic section, but says 2001 autos will not have them. My manual does....so do I need that brass fitting since I did not get one with my ez? Did that even make sense? Here is the link to what I am talking about:

Re:Edge EZ installation questions

I have the comp and received the brass elbow with the kit. I f you have an manual you shouldn't need the wastegate hook. I know my 2002 six speed didn't. The elbow will give you more boost.
Scooter

Re:Edge EZ installation questions

thats what I thought. So the turnbuckle is just for the autos, where the brass elbow should be for either application? I need the brass elbow then [undecided]

Re:Edge EZ installation questions

If you didn't get an elbow with your EZ, just call Edge, they should send you one no problem.

The brass elbow only works on the Turbo supplied with the manual transmission trucks.

The turnbuckle can be used on either, but has to be used on the Automatic Transmission trucks, due to a hardline wastegate that isn't elbow-able.

phox

Re:Edge EZ installation questions

Just a word or two about the boost elbow...

If you install the boost elbow at the time you install the EZ all will be well. If you decide to remove the EZ to take the truck in for warranty service, if the elbow is left in, it'll set a code for overboost. The EZ has a boost-fooler built in. Save the old fitting in case you need to downgrade later.
