Edge EZ

I just got an EZ off of a freind for cheap, $225. Got it hooked up and took it for a drive and WOW!! What a difference it makes. The turbo spools up real quick now and doesn't slow down around 2K. Now if I can just keep out of the throttle maybe my mileage will go up

I too couldn't believe the difference the EZ made!!!! Here in Utah there is a very long climb out of the Salt Lake Valley and I pull a 24 foot trailer with a lot of water and a heavy 4-wheeler in the back. Last year without the EZ I had the peddle to the floor and just barely kept it in 3rd locked going about 55 - 60 mph. This year with just the EZ and a closed wastegate, I went up it at 70 mph in 3rd locked with 1/2 throttle. I couldn't believe it. I wonder how it will do with the rest of the chip hooked up? (I have the comp in EZ mode currently). I would probably end up on the side of the road with a burned transmission.

Don't count on the mileage going up. Too obtain economy, you have to keep your foot out of the injector pump..... and that ain't gonna happen with the Edge!

IF you think the EZ made a difference, try some injectors

I hope you have guages.
I can easily get the EGT up to 1300 with my stock truck going up parleys.

I do have guages. The EGT is post turbo (I should move it pre-turbo) and without the EZ I was up to around 1000 - 1100. This time, it stayed right at 800 but I'm not sure if that can be attributed to the chip or the open wastegate or if it was just a cooler day.

Probably a little bit of all three.

Where is the best place to buy a Edge EZ ?

This weekend, I installed a boost gage, trans temp gage. I have the EGT gage , but was not sure where to install it , befor or after the turbo.

Is the elbo a must with the EZ ?

The elbow is not a must, but it will make a BIG difference with your EGT's.

Look in the classifieds or check out the vendors that sponsor this site.

BTW you will not be able to use a boost elbow unless you have a manual transmission. For an automatic you will have to purchase an aftermarket wastegate.

Install Pyro preturbo.

Good luck

...or use the turnbuckle trick (required for HY35 turbos only).
