Question edge comp box

hey guys, im kind of a newbie to the deisel game and jus had a question on my truck. i put the comp box on and i can see a definate power increase but ive talkd to others that say they have one on a stock truck and theirs smokes a whole lot more than mine does. jus wonderin if yall could help me out and tell me what i should be seein. mine will puff out a cloud when i shift if i dont let the boost get up in the previous gear. i got the wire tapped and a 4" exhaust on it.
love this site, ive learned more than i thought i ever would in about a month jus by readin on here

I didn't see much smoke with my comp box either unless I got on the throttle hard, but with the map sensor unpluged it smokes like a train.

Thats how it should be. A hard run on 5x5 should have a slight haze out of the exhuast. You should be able to gat 35 to 38 lbs of boost with the elbow. That will tell you it working right. If you pull the map out of the block and just conect the edge to the map sensor it will smoke alot and spool the turbo a bit faster off the line.

Sounds just about right. I was really expecting to be able to through a big smoke show when I installed mine but later learned that everything was working just the way it should. As I am sure you probably know smoke is just unburnt fuel and means that you are pouring in too much fuel. The edge was designed to increase efficiency and unburnt fuel is just not efficient. Although a nice cloud of smoke tends to tame down the ricers.
