Drilling out stock banjos
Maybe I'm just a weakling but after pushing hard enough to cause a nose bleed and pop a few blood vessels I did some research and found that if you heat up some motor oil in a can (or something you dont care to ruin) and let the end of the hose sit in it for a few minutes, they're much easier to put together. Still.....dont attempt if you have to use the bathroom.

The problem with the stock banjos is that the ID of the fitting where the hose is attached is so small. Drilling out the holes in the bolts themselves is pointless.
The only way to eliminate the restriction is to eliminate the banjos entirely AND go to a larger fuel line.
I highly recommend push-lok style hose and a Weber Carb inlet fitting (which is M12 like the banjos).

Thanks, Hohn, I am installing a vulcan big line kit from the filter housing to the vp.
I read about drilling out the banjo's a long while back and finally had time to fool around with the one's from my dealer installed in tank pump re-route so I went after them with the drill press and dremel, but after posting this I decided 50 bucks was worth it to feed the vp better..

Finally got it installed yesterday, the weather has been nice over here so we went back to work! I was missing one JIC fitting and Vulcan sent it out immediately with no questions asked! Thanks Vulcan.
Installed easily enough, but I had to cut the hose at a longer length than suggested to clear my PS cap. Also the fittings are big, 24mm for the JICs and not a lot of swing room for a longer wrench.
The first thing I noticed was what seems to be a quieter VP. Especially at shut down, the clatter is gone. This is for certain.
Huge HP gains, however, may be symptomatic of a case of moditis!!

I still have the stock lift pump.
It still puts out up to 10psi.
Not bad for an 11year old lift pump, eh?
