Question 53 block 4k gsk

so guys wanted to get 4gsk spring (4&3) gsk but worried about the 4 gsk cracking block with that much water pressure being added when spin that fast, do you think it could hurt it ? thanks

You will float the stock valves and damage them if you exceed 3500 rpm.
Need to switch to 60 lb valve springs.
Many people install a 4k and just watch their tach, keeping under 3000-3500 rpm.
Or you can buy a 4k kit and only install the 3k springs that come with it.
Water pressure is controlled by your radiator cap and should never exceed 16 psi unless the cap is defective.

Maybe I'm having a brain fart...but the radiator cap shouldn't have anything to do with pressure in the block/head, which would come from the water pump spinning so fast. The cap only holds pressure against outside atmosphere. I've heard of freeze plugs pushing out at higher RPMs, and I'm sure it wasn't from the radiator cap not popping open.

There is an electric replacement water pump for that reason.... I also have no idea if high rpm's would affect the 53 weak jacket.

I'm not so sure the increase of water pressure will crack the block.. Just be sure to make sure your engine is up to operating temp before you 'romp' on it, and don't shut it down when its real hot.. Guys have some good horsepower out of a 53 without cracking. Then again there are plenty of of blocks that have cracked being in stock form.. just my 2 cents.
