Drilled/Slotted Rotors on EBay

Does anybobdy have any knowledge or advice regarding the performance rotors for Dodge RAM 2500/3500 that are advertised on EBay. The prices seem to good to be true; $180.94/front-set from Rennen Motors, $169.00/front-set of Bembos from wholesaledirectparts.com etc. I need to replace my front rotors. For comparision a single, front, slotted Raybestos rotor for my 99 2500 costs $250-260 at the local parts stores.

I purchased a set from raceconcepts. Unfortunately, I found out I have 4 wheel ABS and the ones that they shipped where for a non abs front end. When I called him back to explain, he had no problem refunding my complete payment plus sent a call tag to pick up the rotors.

As for the rotors themselves, they look real nice. Zinc plated and everything looked like it was done on a CNC.

Unfortunately, I am not about to spend the money for aftermarket rotors for this truck. I just had the others turned. ABS really sucks when it comes time to having to replace the rotors.

The prices they are quoting are not for ABS rotors. Also, I had mine cross drilled half way through and slotted. This will help with the heat and retain a lot of the strength. I tow a lot and was afraid of cracking a drilled rotor.

Thanks for the feedback. How do I know if I have four-wheel ABS?? I know that I have rear-ABS because it sucks. Is front-ABS standard or an optional item that would be noted on the window-sticker? I know when I go to Pep Boys, Advance etc. they don't ask about ABS when they are entering the specifics for my truck in order to pull-up rotors and brake parts.

You will clearly be able to tell by looking at the rotor itself. If it is a one piece hub and rotor assembly then you have ABS in the front. If the rotor is bolted on and there is a hub or spacer then you will use the rotor only.

You don't specify if you have a 2wd or 4wd. I am not sure about the 4wd setup as I have a 2wd.

The only place I buy rotors any more is www.tirerack.com I always use Bembo.
Their plain 4WD Bembos are $66/ea, slotted/drilled $170 pair.
Good sevice, cheap shipping.

The one piece ABS rotor must be for the newer trucks, 'cause mine is one piece and it DEFINATELY DOES NOT have front ABS, just rear.

BTW, Mines a 95

I was told by the brake shop that turned my rotors for me that the one piece houses the gearing for the ABS. My rotors have these a gear like design on the inside of the housing. The ABS sensor sits just above it when installed.

The rotors that I was sent do not have an attached hub assembly. They told me those were for four wheel drives and non ABS vehicles with the one piece hubs.

Looking at another autoparts site with picture of the actual rotors. I am now more confused then ever. The rotors with ABS look different then the non ABS rotos. However, it looks as if the truck came with both standard rotors and seperate hubs and a rotor/hub one piece unit. Not sure what differentiates the two now.

I got a set of drilled and slotted rotors off ebay, they've been just fine. I did those and a set of Hawk brake pads from Geno's Garage at the same time. I could certainly feel a difference in the new combo.
