Question Down pipe question

After lookin at my turbo outlet on my 99, its lookes like 3 1/2" right?
Anyhow, is there anyone that sells a 4" adapter plate that can be installed on that turbo? I'm thinkin mine is an HX40. I thought I seen it somewhere. Anyone?

Unless you or someone else changed the turbo it should be a HY35 I believe. Not an HX40. Are you looking to change the outlet size on the turbo itself or just adapt a 4" downpipe to it? Dunno if you can change the outlet size but I'm sure most of the exhaust manufacturers make a 4" downpipe that will fit right on it.

Piers makes an adapter for running an HX40 down pipe on an HX35 http://www.piersdiesel.com/3540Adt.htm . Is that what you are looking for?

Your 99 Auto has a HX35, not a HY, stock........HY's were on 00 and 01 autos only, I think........the outlet elbow on the back of a HX35 and HY35 are 3"...........The HX40 is only offered with a 4" outlet.......You do not need any adaptors to run an aftermarket 4" downpipe on your HX35 - they bolt right on.

CTD NUT - FYI...HY35 was on 2002 also.

mkrenn - As CTD NUT says, if you order an aftermarket 4" system, and specify it's for an HX-35, the downpipe comes necked down in the top 4" to hook right onto your turbo.

Thanks all. Cool info. I made an uneducated guess on my turbo.
Point being, I would line a 4 inch oulet on the turbo. Sabby anyone?
That way when I bolt a 4 inch downpipe on, its 4 inch to 4 inch. NOT 3 to 4 or 3 1/2 to 4. I'm thinking this would greatly reduce EGT's.
I thought I seen this somewhere.
Anyone?
