Door roller/hinge - 2001 CTD 2500

I have a 2001 CTD 2500 I use as a work truck. This week the driver door started squeaking pretty loud so I put some grease on it. The squeaking is less but continues. Further investigation shows a ?roller? or maybe a Hinge Pin Bushing that allows the door to open partial or all the way is disintegrating.
I am in and out of my driver door 20+ times a day which I guess has worn out the roller.
Any tips on the repair? Thanks for the help.

As far as I know, the actual hinge pins and bushings are replaceable. The bushing and roller for the detent part must be replaced with the whole hinge assembly. You may want to check with a dealer to verify this. They should be able to show you a picture with all the available parts.

The factory bushings are very thin and wear out. I rebuilt my driver's side a couple years ago and plan to do the passenger side this weekend.
I used a different Motormite kit to get thicker bushings. Once I find the kit, I'll report back with the number.

I had that happen to my old 97. I had a body shop replace them since you have to take the pins out and they had everything needed. You don't have to replace the hinge, just the bushings.

It help some with door sag. Take a hold of the end of your door and try to move it up and down while watching the pins. If there is any movement then the bushing need to be replaced.

New pin & bushings fixed door sag & wind noise through the gasket on the driver side.
It should do the same for the passenger door. Top cushing is completely shot on that side.

BTW, it appears the top hinge is the significant wear point. The lower hinge is OK

I lubricate mine at every oil change, and they are still mint after ten years. I also make sure to blast all the crap out of that area when at the pressure wash.

Thanks for letting me know I am not the only victim. Every Chysler product I have owned (6 since 1979) has the door sag but a little work makes it go away. I am going to look for the aftermarket bushings for a better fix, then do the oil of the bushing with the oil change. I need this truck to go for a few more years without falling apart. The engine will certainly outlast the body.
Thanks for your feedback.

My bushings are shot that roll against the detent. That, and my doors sag and I have an incredible amount of wind noise which pisses me right the heck off. If anyone finds the part numbers for what I need at a reasonable price, post or pm please.

Thanks,
Shawn
