curious?

I have read more threads about you guy's hitting this for boost and this for egt's and top speed. I'm am totally miffed as to how, because when I go out and try that it's like, wow what the. You guys must really have an area to run, because I can easily hit more than I need to in a matter of 7 to 8 secs Maybe I'm getting to old for this bombing stuff. Just curious as to what you are all doing. Smoke will give me away for at least a 1/4 mile, and the sound will also be a dead giveaway. Have to find a track to run it hard one time, or dyno. Any help?

i have a spur off of the interstate by my house thats two lanes each way with a large grass median, and the traffic on it at night is next to none, so even tho i may not be legal when breaking the speedlimit, i am safe as i try not to do any WOT testing when cars are near.

when on the highway i may blurp the throttle enough to blow a little smoke or speed up 10mph then let off if i wanna show off for another cummins, or any diesel owner for that fact. but ive grown up a bit after getting some tickets a while back in my ford lightning

I've got a stretch of road behind my house that is fairly untravelled that I go and "test" on. That or I go out to my boss's place cause the road in front of him isn't used at all. That's where I do my top end runs.

I've found a long staight dead end road I like. Its about a mile long. Cruise along and let the cummins scare any wildlife away then its playtime =P Got a 1/4 measured out approximately, now I just need a marker for the 1/8.

The main time I get to use my power is for passing and on-ramps: its all about passing power =P I'm a pretty conservative driver 95% of the time, but enjoy getting the truck sideways every now and then
