Curiosity about FP gauge mounted on A pillar triple pod
Curiosity about FP gauge mounted on A pillar triple pod
Guys
the first thing ima do when i fill my piggy bank for the "toy" fund i have at home is plain and simply order some gauges. Ive been lookin at the Isspro gauges that pretty much look stock on my truck, I want to keep that matching look on the A pillar
I know that many of you guys run FP guages on a 12V, and i wanted to know if it was possible to just route the lines to the bottom of the triple pod and go ahead and just run the gauge with no leaks? i want to have FP at the top, pyro in the center and the boost at the bottom,
if i do go this setup, would it jsut be easier to put the FP at the bottom to minimize running lines? I want it at top cause it would be the one that i look at the least.
Now i already have gauges, but they are inefficient for my use and the pyro is post turbo...
I want to redo them and do them right... if anyone has pics of this setup please let me know, any and all opinions are welcomed....
Here are the ones that i want..

http://www.issproinc.com/proddetail.php?prod=R5604 (they make this one with the red pointer to match the other gauges in a 60 lb gauge)
(PS my clutch fund is still seperate
)
Thanks guys!
Rick

I ran mine down bottom just on account of what you are taling about. I just wanted to the hose to route as smooth as possible. If it's gonna leak, it's gonna leak no matter where you put it.........
Txdiesel007,
your going to want a gauge that goes higher than 30psi, I believe that idle pressure can be around 35psi on the 12valves, I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure that its over 30psi at idle.
Tim.
Edit, just read this, nevermind,

I had no trouble running a 4 AN line to my FP gauge and yes, it is mounted at the bottom of the triple pillar for specifically the reason you mentioned.....it would be very difficult to route that line past the bottom mount in the pillar.

TxDiesel007,
Lots of guys just run a line, but I strongly reccomend that you use an isolator as it keeps fuel out of the interior and if you get a pancake style like we sell it will be trouble free, some of the old cylinder style were problems etc.

P.J,
If you want a stainless hose it is expensive but not necessary. The hose we use is good up to 400 PSI made by Goodyear and is very cost effective. Approx 25% less than you mentioned depending on what options etc.

I sheathed my fuel tube in the next size fuel hose from NAPA. It seems like most of these hoses are waaaay overkill. I figure that if you are 300% over, you are doing just fine (~50psi).
Just my opinion.
