The boost elbow limits the air pressure going to the wastegate actuator on the HX35 rubber line turbo. The HY35's have a steel line.
The J-hook physically holds the wastegate. Most folks set it so the wastegate will open a little to keep the turbo from turning too fast and heating up the air...all help gratefully accepted.
