Common boost leak spots?
Current setup
01 HO 6 sp with Vanaaken box, 4" turbo back straight pipe, AFE air intake, Autometer Ultra Lite Gauges
Noticed that I'm only getting 20 lbs of boost now. Was getting 31 or 32 lbs.
Were are some common areas that the boost leaks? It seems to spool slower now too.
I have the boost elbow with the little set screw and it is tight. Is that just 1/8" pipe thread that threads into the turbo? Should I just plug it?
Or is boost leaking somewere else?
Or did my VA box die?
Thanks

That much difference in boost you should be able to hear a leak. The lower boot on the passenger side is the most comon to get wholes in it because under pressure it swells and sometimes rubbs the fender. its good idea to check the other 3 boots to. The gaskets on the grid heater block and intake horn sometimes let loose, or if you had it apart dont work when back together. Check all conections for your Va box, If you are getting black smoke under hard accelleration the box is working if no smoke at all then possibly your box died. If you can verify your box is working, then run a pressure test on your intercooler and piping, to do that you can use the search and search for pressure test and youll find the instructions for that. its Fairly simple.
