Cold Starting after a #10 Plate and DDP2s

When I first start the truck on a cold morning it won't stay running. This started right after I installed the DDP2s and #10 plate. The truck runs fine otherwise. I didn't adjust the governor screw (plate alignment is good), the starwheel (moved the housing forward a little), or the idle.

Has anyone else had this problem? Oh and I am letting the grid heater warm up before I start it. If I plug it in, there is no problem.

This isn't a major deal. I just give it a little throttle for 30-60 seconds and then the truck idles fine.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

A little heavier fuel in the cold start is normal. My DDP3s make it lope until it gets some heat. I would check the idle speed and up it a tad. Moving the AFC housing ahead also gives a little more fuel at zero boost or idle and can make it go too rich and stall.

I'd bump the idle up a bit. Even in -35, my truck will idle on its own right after starting. It idles low, around 650-700, but I hold it at around 1k rpm for about 30 seconds anyway to get a little bit of cylinder heat.

Cool thanks guys. That is pretty much what I was suspecting. I will adjust my idle up a little to compensate and see if it helps.

Thanks,

Craig
