seems to be a common problem..
my symptoms are different and wacky at times

at the moment
the brake/ABS lights are on..been that why for more than a week with any problems. the speedo works fine..this started right after I washed down the engine after replacing the water pump

sometimes the lift pump comes when the key is moved to run sometimes not. sometimes to takes 3-4 seconds then comes on..sometimes if I wait until it turns off..25-30seconds(without bumping the starter)..then it might start..sometimes the lift turn on after I've turned the key off

the newest wrinkle to the list is the blinking wait-to-start light..if this starts it won't start..

I've clean all the connectors. on the ecm,pcm,power dist, C125, the one under the driver kick panel outside..I've reset and checked fuses. I've moved relays around

I've checked for code, but didn't find any
I going to get a sensor for the rear wheel and borrow a 'good' scanner..maybe it show codes.

i didn't mention that..
but I've cleaned them..the pcm ground, the ground near the passenger batterys, the driver battery the ABS ground..only the big rusted ground on the engine i've not touched..but if they were bad it wouldn't crank..and it does crank..

tomorrow I'm checking the grid heaters..they should even be trying to turn on when the low is 70+...but maybe the ecm is complaining that it cannot turn them on..just enough to make them click..

Thanks for the suggestion..It seem that I might needing a new ecm..
I also replaced the rear speed sensor today..now if I could get it started the ABS/brake light might go out..

grounds clean..again..

found a fuel line leak..the line itself has gotten hard from heat and cracked near the VP44...started 2 times no problems..well after getting the air out..2nd time I let ot warm up(3minutes running) a bit..now no start..

looks like I might to get to join the club of new ECM owners..

the wait-to-start now doesn't come on at all.
lift pump doesn't run either..

any other thoughts???

I'm leaning towards ECM. Seems every post that has mystery start/lights/lp/fuel issues no codes etc is an ECM....

 

the replacement ECM was ordered Sat Night..I got word its shipped today..

if anyone goes looking the parts numbers..
mines 3942366..no a dodge number..
the search at mopar sites..suggest a 56040199Ax..this NOT!!! the ECM its the PCM..I still don't know Dodges p/n for the ECM. I did contact one of the places about the number and part..the PCM is around $600..they could special order an ECM for $1600..so watch the numbers..

i'll update after the replacement arrives and works..

now to find some 1/2 biodiesel compatable fuel line?? the stuff Air Dog ships has failed..it leak ..I'm not sure if its biodiesel or heat related..since the outside is falling apart and stiff. brittle..yes the Blue hose.

YEA ..the replacement ECM works..
I got it from dodgeautocomputers.com. they shipped it pretty fast. Ordered on Saturday night here on Thursday.

now to work on the brake and ABS lights. rear speed sensor replaced..more digging..
