So I was driving home and the truck surged twice (while under very very light throttle - just enough to keep moving at 65. Foot was pretty much just resting on go pedal). Then the check engine light came on.

I think it is something with my edge because the surge feels like when you change from one power level to another, only now I'm not touching any buttons and it's doing it on its own (I thought halloween was over!). Should I try to send it back to edge to have them take a look at it or reflash it?

Of course I can't check codes on my truck. So, I'm looking at getting a scanner to tell me what's going on. Suggestions?

All gauges look good (including fuel pressure).

 

You can get a free scan at most chain type auto parts stores.

If it shows P0121 to P0123, you might have an Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) issue.
I disconnected mine and found a discolored pin.
I reconnected/disconnected/reconnected mine a few times to improve the connection with good results.
