Clutch, is it stock?
I ran into another question with my truck. I bought it used, and of course have no info on what was done to it. But today I drove a friend's truck, a 2001 3/4 ton long bed, and his clutch pedal is a lot softer than mine; it releases in the lower 1/3 of travel and feels the same pressure all the way through. My pedal feels stiffer at the upper 1/3 of travel, then kind of "lets go", becomes lighter, and releases in the upper 1/3 of travel. Do I have a non-stock clutch, or it is just an individual difference?
When I was working under the truck, I think there is evidence there that the gearbox and bellhousing were removed in the past.

I'd suspect an aftermarket clutch. My Con FE changed the feel in almost the manner described. The pressure is less linear, with light pressure at the top and a lot more needed to keep it at the floor.
It's part of the leverage setup to increase pressure plate load to help holding power.
