Clearance ?
Clearance ?
Went to start putting the marine pistons on the rods of the motor I'm putting together, and found that I don't really have these clearance #'s or sizes. If anyone has the pin diameter, little end with bushing, and how much clearance I'm allowed, would be a big help.
I measured 2 rod ends so far, one was 1.576, and the other was 1.578. Both pins were 1.563.
I'd just like to make sure, so if I have too much clearance, I can replace these bushings.
Thanks Rick

Hi Rick -
Pin diameter - 1.5744 min. 1.5749 max.
Rod end - 1.5755 min. 1.5765 max.
They don't give a clearance in my manuals. I guess that means the acceptable clearance is .0006 to .0021. I'd mix & match to try to get uniform clearance if you can - biggest pins in the biggest holes.
Piston pin bore is supposed to be 1.5744 min. 1.5758 max
