Is it ok to use kn filter cleaner ,and oil on the scotty 2?? thanks guys ,oh its a uni filter

 

Yes, I've been using K&N cleaning/oiling system for several years.

 

ok cool , I just wanted to make sure that it would work on a foam filter

 

I just use some light soap to clean the filter and rinse it.

You can get the UNI kits from Bryan at DPP pretty reasonably priced. I like the fact that the outer sock of the UNI comes off with all the heavy stuff to clean in the sink!!! Makes life much easier...

 

how much oil does one spray on? and do u spray just the outside cover ,or the inside part too?I have never cleaned mine,it has prolly 80k on it ,I figure it needs done badly

 

I oil the foam outside part then squeeze to distribute the oil evenly.

Then reinstall the foam over the inner filter element.

Wearing surgical gloves helps a bunch with the after service clean-up.

 

so the outside part is all that needs cleaned?

 

You can clean them both is the inner one looks dirty.

I just cleaned the outer one last time.
