C.B mounting questions.

Hey all, I just bought a Dale Earnhardt edition Cobra 29 C.B radio at a T.A truck stop in P.A the other day, now I gotta get the thing mounted in the Dodge.

Not many great mounting places with a 4x4 5 spd are there??

Anyone have any good ideas?? pics would be super.

I'm hoping to go with a dual 3' fibreglass antennae setup.

(mounted on the box behind the cab) anyone know of good brackets/mounting setup for this as well?? Would like to make it look good and do as little destruction to the box as possible.

I don't have any pics, but I mounted mine to the plastic cowling below the 4wd lever. Drilled two small holes and mounted the bracket so the bottom (rear) of the cb would be right at the floor. It's out of the way and is easy to get the power and antenna to it.

The brackets sold with the Fire Stick twins have brackets that will mount to the tool box with minimal damage. Most truck stops carry the twins for around $37.

I mounted mine above the e-brake handle. If your not careful, you'll hit your knee. But I like it right there. I've got the 3' firesticks mounted on opposite sides of the bed. I get great reception. I just bought the matching firestick mounts.

Firestick makes stake hole mounts that mount up without any drilling. I have the extended version that fits underneath my cap with no interference. Check out firestick.com

I mounted mine just below the ash try. Out of the way, yet close at hand when needed. Nice to have when you are driving on the freeway, truckers are always talking and they let you know where the cops are.

I agree on not having many good places to mount the CB. I want to mount mine to the ceiling, but I am a little unsure if it is possible. If anyone has done it, what does it take? any pics?

I like the BGBW Wunder mount. I wonder if it would work with my smoothie.
