Re:mounting options for comp

I mounted mine in the ash tray. This requires cutting your ash tray up a little but it is very nice. Keeps it hidden from preying PSD drivers eyes. ;D

Maybe those who have it mounted in the ashtray can make up some diagrams, patterns, pictures, templates if you will, and get them posted in the article or FAQ section.<br><br>Someone posted pics a while back, could do a search for &quot;ashtray and comp&quot; and maybe find them.<br><br>Then those of us attempting this don't utter some choice words and have to buy replacement ashtrays from the dealer. :'(<br><br><br>phox

A good friend of mine has pictures of this you can look at. I don't have his web page but if you go into members lists and look up jweir and click on jims truck it will bring it up for you.

Re:mounting options for comp

I mounted mine on top of the steering colume and ran the wires behind the knee bolster and out between the colume and bolster.

I just used the velcro. Put it on the left side of the steering wheel on the knee bolster. Brake controller is on the right side... :<br><br>Tony

Re:mounting options for comp

I don't have a comp yet but I have a question in planning where to locate it. How long are the wires? Are they long enough to mount the comp above the sun visor?

Re:mounting options for comp

This is the slickest mount I've seen.
CCahill from TDR was building these.
It positions the comp just above the heater controls and it looks like it came that way from the factory.

Maybe I'm just wierd, but I don't see all the fuss about brackets and such. Like Tony, I just use the supplied velcro on knee bolster. I do like the ashtray idea though -- thats pretty cool.<br><br>consider too that you may want to remove your comp for a trip to the dealer...

Re:mounting options for comp

By the time I get a comp and have everything hooked up, I'll be out of warranty, and be doing all my own work anyway. <br><br>-SFB
