Boost and Smarty.

I have had a Smarty on my Cummins for a couple of weeks now, and the boost maxes out at 20 psi. What, if any, benefits would I see if I added a manual boost controller or elbow? Thanks

What are you seeing for EGT's on a WOT run in top gear? If you don't have enough fuel (stock) then you don't really need more boost. If you are getting hot then a manual boost controller or boost elbow will allow more boost and help cool things off.

Lower EGTs. Smarty increases fueling enough to where you'd benefit from more boost, up to 30psi or so.

It will also feel a little peppier with the WG staying closed longer.

1200* is about the most I have seen for EGT's so far. I guess my thinking was that since I am getting a fair amount of smoke with the smarty (even on fuel saver), that more boost would burn more of the fuel and make more power and less smoke. I am not sure if this is true or not?

You should get some sort of boost elbow to help burn the fuel provided by the Smarty. Perhaps that's something that could be included upon request from Bob; a boost elbow.
