boost and line leaks

I have an 02 3500 with a Comp box..wire tapped and a Bully Dog J-Hook. I'm only getting 20-22 psi boost pressure. Some say I have a leak somewhere in my intercooler lines. Does anyone know the main trouble spots on these boots where common problems occur?

Thanks,
Daniel

Any boot is a potientail leak. I've had a couple leaks, and somehow blown a couple boots off.

A lot of times the intercooler boot will rub on a pinch seam or something on the bottom of the intercooler boot and slice it.....so just looking at the top or sides it won't be obvious. I'd just take your boots off completely and go over them to check for any cuts. Most of the time that is the problem........

Do a search for "boost leak test" and you'll find a bunch of good info including how to make a tester. I got most of the parts together yesterday to make one but there are a couple of things I'm going to "borrow" from work so I can build it really nicely (with a ball valve and pressure gauge). Boost leak testing is a great idea for anyone with a forced induction vehicle of any type. It'll allow you to fix problems that may not even be noticeable when driving, yet.

Rt I had to use one of those devices that Atc is refering to the other night and it turned out that the divers side intercooler boot was leaking I pulled the boot inspected it and replaced the clamp,so much for the leak. In a nutshell the device works well....
