Stock boost readings, and leaks?

What are the normal boost numbers for a stock 05? I installed the boost gauge today, and am seeing no boost just putzing around, and max of 26, settling to 22-24 under full throttle (empty). Cruising at 55, I'm seeing 0 boost. What should I expect to see?

How would I know if I had a small leak at the boost bolt fitting?

Isspro 60lb gauge.

Hmm. I think I saw a 30 spike for a split second on 3/4 throttle. There sure is no 32 at WOT though. I'll have to play with it. Can you over tighten the little compression fittings? Maybe that's my issue.

No BM, I actually tightened mine on there pretty good and the tubing came out, so I cranked the crap out of it and there have been no adverse problems.

My stock '06 makes 36psi, as soon as the boost hits 36 it drops. And that is not at WOT, I am sure that it would do the same at WOT.

Well then I'll tighted them up some. I may not have tightened the gauge end very well at all. Do I need to seal the boost bolt with anything? Teflon on the threads?

I believe that the bolt seals to the manifold with the under side of the bolt head not the threads. If it is leaking try finding a soft copper washer to put in between the bolt and manifold, that will help seal it. Try one of the copper washers that is used in between the brake hose and the caliper on a disk brake system.

I see around 30 at WOT. As to the compression fittings... You CAN over tighten them. I did it a few times with my fuel pressure gauge and it tears the heck out of the tubing and the brass nut that compresses.

I have been asking about that on 2 different forums and no one knows anything about it. Only answer so far is that the edge even set to stock does boost fooling.

That's what I'm wondering, the "stock" settings on tuners / boxes / programmers still doing boost fooling. I'm totally stock, and I saw a brief spike at 30 while merging on the highway last night, but at WOT it typically might peak between 26 and 28 before settling down 2 or 3 psi. Also, I was running at 3-4 lbs at 69mph. This is flat road with 373 gears, and auto, and 285's. I can see the wastegate opening, so I'm wondering how much vairation there is in what the computer sensor sees. Maybe the map sensors are too widely tolerant? Also, what are people using to see boost numbers (gauge). It seems that I'm reading most people with Edge products read higher boost numbers that those with analog. Maybe it's an edge marketing trait?
