checking fuel line leaks safely!
did an engine bay clean up last week and inspected everything closely...my #1 and #2 fuel lines on the pump (right where they connect) were leaking very slightly there was some slight residue there...i was able to tighten them (they were slightly loose) and cleaned everything thouroughly...no more leaks!! not a drop!!...k good....also during my inspection i get the same thing coming out the base of my #4 and #5 injectors...just some slight residue on the manifold..
question is i wanna be able to tighten all the nuts there...but i dont know the safe procedure of removing the lines from the injectors...i dont wanna get a hole in my hand from the pressures...whats the procedure? and then whats the startup procedure afterwards will it start fine? (just #4, 5 injectors)

Well the only way you have to worry about safety when loosening the lines is while it is running, the intense pressure can cause the diesel to penetrate the skin. You can take the lines off without the truck running with out any problems. If you only take off one end of the line you don't have to bother bleeding the line, but if you take off both you'd have to leave the injector end loose and crank the motor until the fuel coming out isn't bubbling.
